Alleges booth-capturing in Bandipora, writes to SEC Srinagar,
Awami National Conference Senior Vice President Muzafar Ahmed Shah Tuesday claimed that Altaf Bukhari led Apni Party is B-Team of BJP. He said this party knew in advance that Government of India was going to annul special status of Jammu and Kashmir and whatever happened in Kashmir, this party knew in advance. While addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Muzafar Ahmed Shah said that Apni Party with the help of administration resorted to booth capturing in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
He said PAGD is not contesting elections for power but it has a different agenda and it is only there to restore the dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Shah as per KNT said that they have submitted a complaint before the State Election Commissioner about booth capturing at Garoora polling station in Bandipora and asked for re-poll at Bandipora A. The complaint reads that: “You will find from the complaint made by our candidate seconded by one another independent candidate Mohd Shafi Khan-conforming the contents of the complaint of Gulam Mohiudin Bhat, ANC candidate jointly put up as the PAGD candidate for Bandipore A.
“The nature of the complaints are extremely serious & the ANC demands examination of the CCTV recordings in front of the complaining candidate that will confirm the brazen booth capturing done at Garoora virtually under gunpoint assisted by the SOG Task Force DSP surprisingly with the RO & other officials witnessing the plunder of our democratic rights & gross violations of the stringent rules of the Election Commission of India.”“The ANC demands immediate inspection of the CCTV records & as complained as per witnessed by our election agents, the election at the booths at Garoora need to be conducted afresh.
”“Poll rigging of this magnitude asks for strict action to be initiated on spot against the erring officials & the SOG officials & their accompanying team.”“An enquiry & action will be demanded against the district authorities as per rules laid down.”“The ANC had pinpointed the apprehensions to you in writing in advance from the ground inputs received & pre-warned you of such mischief.”“Though the CCTV’s were installed, yet this brazen display of intolerable serious dereliction of a sacred duty forming the essence of our democracy has taken place which is deplorable & totally unacceptable.”
“I am sure you will rise to the occasion & ensure that Justice is delivered & the respect of the franchise to cast their vote without coercion is exercised in the democratic India.”“The people of Bandipore are outraged at this happening & demand immediate redressal of this uncalled for occurrence under your ward & watch.”“The ANC will be making this public through a press conference during the day & hope to hear ordering of repoll without any delay as per rules in such matters.”
