Srinagar, Jan 07 : BJP’s Kashmir Unit leader Thursday voluntary hired few JCB machines to clear the snow from several inner roads links in the city.
Party’s Kashmir Media Incharge and youth leader, Manzoor Bhat after getting complaints regarding snow lifting, hired few JCB machines and cleared snow from many areas of city.
“After seeing R&B department has failed to clear the snow from vital roads, I volunteered some JCB and provided them expenses from my own pocket,” he said.
Bhat said party’s helpline numbers on Wednesday and Thursday recieved dozens of distressed calls from people urged for help.
“On Thursday morning I decided to volunteer the intiative and provide the some releif to my people in several areas and it was widely appreciated by the people,” he said.
Even at some places, heavy snow had blocked the roads leading to Masjid’s, shops and health centres.
“Till afternoon we have cleared inner roads in Ikrajpora, Lasjan, Jawaharnagar and Solina areas and similarly snow from other adjoining areas will be cleared”, Bhat said.
He said apart from it wherever in city we are getting calls we are depute machinery towards the spots.
Bhat said as SMC is busy is other areas and we tried to call them several time.
It is pertinent mention here that others who contributed to this initiative including a noted social activist from Srinagar, Mohammad Abdullah who provided full support, Aabid Hussain, Masroor Ali and Ilyas Ali also contributed the same .
Bhat also urged the adminisatration Kashmir to clear the snow from the roads and restore electricity on the priority basis
