Rich tributes were paid to cultural / Literary legendries who have passed away in the month of December.
In this connection a function was organised at JKAACL Hqrs here at Lal Mandi Srinagar.
The function was presided over by Prof Farooq Fayaz while Prof. Nazir Malik formar HOD Urdu Kashmir University and Chief Editor JKAACL Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Tak were also present in the presidum.
On the occassion Cultural/ Literary legendries were remembered and their contribution highlighted which include Prof Hamidi Kashmiri, Gh. Nabi Firaq, Ali Mohammad Lone, Hakeem Manzoor, Arjun Dev Majboor, Mohiu Din Shah, Gh.Nabi Nazir, Bashir Akhter, Aanand Laher, Fareed Parbati, Mohd Ahmad Andrabi, Umar Majeed, Sajad Hussain, Haneef Tareen and others.
In his welcome address Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Tak Chief Editor JKAACL told that it is endaur of the Academy to highlight the Contribution of our legendries who have contributed a lot to our cultural sensibilities. Thay have brought to fore the master pieces of literature which have competed even at international level. They have flourished our literature and cultural legacy.
An extention lecture under the title ” Literary Sensibilities and Kashmir” was delevered by Prof. Nazir Ahmad Malik, formar HOD Urdu Kashmir University.
The Scholers who expressed their views on the occassion inclide Shahzada Saleem, Mohd Amin Bhat, Dr.Shakeel Shifaie, Suhail Salim, Dr Tanveer Tahir, Dr Neelofar Naz Nehvi and Nazeer Fida.
In his presidential address Prof. Farooq Fayaz congratulated the Academy for organising meaningful and purposeful function to pay tributes to our legendries who have contributed a lot during the past half a century.
People from different walks of life were present on the occassion and hailed efforts of the Academy for promotion of Art, Culture and Languages.
Vote of thanks was presented by Mr. Javaid Iqbal Khan Editor Kashmiri while proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr. Gulzar Ahmad Rather Assistant Editor JKAACL.
