Army Chief General MM Nirvana arrived in Ladakh on Wednesday to inspect military preparations on the border with China in the eastern Ladakh.
The military chief’s visit comes amid ongoing military tensions with Beijing over the past seven months.
According to reports, General Nirvana also visited the outposts in the Reichen La area and inspected the situation along the Line of Control.
It is noteworthy that more than 50,000 Indian troops are deployed in the Ladakh region in full readiness for war, where they are also facing severe weather conditions.
China has more or less the same number of troops in the region.
Intense military tensions between the two countries have been raging in the region since May this year.
