DC says youth should act as Goodwill Ambassadors
In view of the spurt in COVID-19 positive cases, the district administration Srinagar on Saturday launched an initiative, ‘Hifazat’, in which the youth from Civil Society will ensure that the COVID-19 protocols are followed in letter and spirit across the district.
On the launch of initiative, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Mohammad Ajaz Asad said that the society should not perceive the adherence to COVID protocol as a punishment rather it should be embraced as a way of life to combat Corona Virus.
According to the news agency Correspondent, he added that the youth volunteers from civil society make an effective Civil Force to educate people to wear masks, observe social distancing, follow hand hygiene and sanitation and take COVID vaccination shots.
Pertinently, amid spurt in Covid-19 cases in Srinagar, the administration has constituted several teams of Magistrates and other officials to take action against the SOP violators.
“The youth shall act as Goodwill Ambassadors of DDMA Srinagar to help our Srinagar to fight the virus in unison,” he said.
Notably, the youth volunteers placed themselves at Chowks, business centres, bus stands where they distributed face masks among people who were found without masks and also appealed them to follow COVID guidelines—(KNO)
