Days after temperatures crossed 35 degree Celsius, rains lashed many parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, on Friday evening providing respite to the people from the heat.
The rainfall, resulting in a dip in temperature by several notches, brought relief from the heat wave conditions prevalent for past two weeks.
Srinagar had recorded a maximum of 35.6 degrees Celsius in last week.
Director local Meteorological department, Sonam Lotus, said rains or thundershowers are likely to occur in different parts of Kashmir in coming three days.
“In coming several days Kashmir may witness mild rainfall during afternoon hours. In coming two to three days, the day temperature will remain static and it will not cross over 27 degree Celsius,” he said.(CNS)
