MeT Department Predicts Improvement in Weather from April 8
Snowfall in the hilly areas of Mau and Kashmir and Ladakh while rain continued in the plains for the second day. The Meteorological Department has forecast snowfall and rains till Wednesday and said that the weather will improve in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from April 8.
According to heavy rains have been continuing in Srinagar city and several other districts of the valley for the last two days amid sunshine. The rains brought down the temperature significantly.
Upper areas of Gulmarg Pahalgam, Amarnath Cave, Panjtarni, Mahagunas Top, Peso Top, Sheeshnag, Gurez Sector, Bangus valley, Nowgam Sector, Mardhal, Farkian Gali, Sadhna Top, Rajdaran Pass and Chowkibal witnessed light snowfall from these areas till last night.
According to a spokesman of the meteorological department, light rains in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh while snowfall in the hilly areas will continue till Wednesday, April 7.
According to the meteorological department, the weather will improve in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from April 8. The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 8.8 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam at 5.9 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg at 0.8 degrees
MeT sources also added that strong winds are also expected during this period with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph. (CNS)
