SRINAGAR: District Budgam downs Baramulla District team by 3-1 goal in penalty shootout in the summit clash of u-19 category( Boys) of “Let’s Play Mega Football tournament” on Saturday played at TRC ground here.
In U-19 Girls section Leh team clinched the trophy by defeating District Kulgam. Srinagar managed third place in this category.
In U-17 Boys category Jammu bagged first spot followed by Leh and Srinagar bagged third spot respectively.
Earlier in three other finals of different age group categories, In U-17 category, Leh secured first place, Baramulla second and Doda third spot respectively.
Sameer Showkat from Srinagar, Irshad Ahmad from Baramulla, Padma Angmo from Leh and Zarra Riyaz were declared best players in different categories.
Ahmad Altaf from Srinagar, Amir Ahmad Bhat from Budgam, Fareeda Bano from Leh, and Sonam Angmo from Leh were declared best Goalkeepers of the tournament.
Advisor to Governor K. Vijay Kumar who was the chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony gave away the prizes.
Director General Youth Services & Sports Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Shahid Choudhary, Secretary J&K state Sports Council Dr. Naseem Javaid Choudhary, SSP Srinagar Haseeb Mughal, and other senior officers of Civil and Police administration were presenton the occasion.
The State Level Football tournament co-branded with Khelo-India which was sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India and was organized by department of Youth Services & Sports.
