Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi has said India is still capable of making a comeback despite suffering a hammering defeat at the hands of Australia.
Taking to his Twitter handle, the former all-rounder praised the pace duo of Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins who between themselves in an extraordinary display of fast bowling picked up nine Indian wickets.
Afridi said, “Brilliant display by Cummins and Hazelwood today, really enjoyed top-quality Test match fast bowling after long time. Indian batting is still capable of fighting back but it will be now tougher without Kohli,”
Earlier today Australia demolished India for 36, their lowest Test score ever.
Hazlewood and Cummins were the chief destroyers, picking up 5-8 and 4-21 respectively as India went from 1-9 overnight to 36 all out in just 15.2 overs.
India’s epic collapse is their lowest score in Tests, lower than the previous record of 42 against England at Lord’s in 1974.
“Everything went to plan today,” Hazlewood told Fox Cricket. “The way Patty started was unbelievable getting the two big wickets and I just followed suit.”
This also the seventh lowest score in the history of Test cricket and just the second time ever no batter scored double figures.
